Janina Maria, the founder, owner, namesake and creative mind behind JAN&INA Trachten, studied at the international fashion school ESMOD, one of the most renowned design academies in the world. She further enhanced her talent and skills at the Augsburg Art Faculty and at drawing schools for illustration, painting and design. The trained designer and pattern maker has worked in the international textile and fashion industry for various well-known brands, as well as various design and creative agencies as a designer/stylist and art director. With her great passion for combining tradition, folklore and traditional costume with current fashion trends and interpreting them in a modern, fresh and different way, she founded the popular designer traditional costume label JAN&INA Trachten in Munich in 2011. The label is popular and well-known among traditional costume lovers in Germany, Austria and internationally for its unique, unmistakable style and special signature in traditional costume.
